The challenges of recruitment in 2024
From the first responses, more than 68% of recruiters say recruitment is challenging or extremely challenging in 2024.
Competition from other recruiters/employers is the top reason they are finding the market challenging currently followed by candidates having unrealistic expectations of the role and wages being lower than requested.
The market has also become more “candidate-lead” and this is changing how people apply for, and accept, new roles.
Early results show tech is important to recruiters
From the responses so far, 76% of recruiters said they regularly use technology and the most common type of tech was ATS - Applicant Tracking Systems.
