Workplace transport company RideTandem has been named one of the startups to watch on the annual Startups 100 list.
With more than 1.5 million passenger journeys completed since launching in 2019, RideTandem is supporting people in hard to reach areas to get to and from work. It offers flexible, reliable, tech-enabled shuttle bus services to and from businesses, schools, and universities. What sets RideTandem apart is its focus on servicing areas across the UK and Germany that have unavailable, unaffordable or unreliable public transport.
RideTandem's services are already used by large organisations such as Next and Royal Mail. These industry giants rely on shuttle services to efficiently transport their staff, ensuring a smooth and sustainable commuting experience.
The startup's success is not just about getting people from point A to point B; it's about doing so in a way that minimises environmental impact and maximises efficiency.
RideTandem's impact goes beyond convenience and efficiency; it's about transforming lives. For 1 in 5 Britons, commuting via public transport isn't a viable option. Since 2019, RideTandem has enabled people to earn more than £66 million in wages at previously inaccessible jobs.
Moreover, the services help businesses avoid around 750+ metric tons of CO2 emissions every month - a total of 16,000 tonnes in the last 4 years.
Alongside RideTandem on the Startups 100 list 2024 are innovative companies such as meat alternative THIS, social care startup Lottie and digital healthcare platform Peppy.
Previous successful businesses included on the list are challenger bank Revolut and recipe box company Mindful Chef.
RideTandem’s tech-backed service allows passengers to book and pay for tickets via an app then track their bus as it heads to the stop. They scan on board with their QR code ticket. Employers can track who has booked and boarded as well as see reports on occupancy, carbon emissions and other data.
RideTandem is committed to continuing the mission of providing sustainable, affordable and efficient transport for commuters in rural areas.
